Just to verify... Unless unlocked bootloader and/or root the options are often very limited and results in wipe when comming from beta to stable.
Would be nice to get it verified how you did it so nobody gets a surprise.
I would recommend a backup regardless if a wipe would be a disaster for you.

Well... Others upgraded fine. Normally worst case would be wiped data. Just make sure that the backup is stored outside of the phone. Read about a few that wiped without storing the backup anywhere but on the phone

When you open file manager , the first page you see which has Android , DCIM folders is the root folder

To comfirm. I have personally fully upgraded from open beta 1 to Stable without the need to wipe the device.
Used Oxygen Updator, turn on Advanced Mode and choose full update. It downloaded OnePlus6TOxygen_34_OTA_040_all_1910270448_e026ea4b864.zip and flashed the normal way. Not to sure if you can just download the incremental update. Can someone confirm?

    Also called local storage.
You may find this helpful despite using a different file manager.

just move it to the internal storage simply and do a local upgrade

In major version updates incremental and full is identical because there is no real incremental. If they are the same size they are also the same files.

Fully upgraded from open beta 1 to Stable 10 without data lose.
Used Oxygen Updator in advanced mode and choose full update. May incremental update not work.
