It's amazing how people loose their etiquette when they are posting things online.

When I purchased my OP 6T a couple of months ago (used to have a Pixel), I thought this community is great. But as time goes on it became apparent that it's not.

The reason for this is that people, rightly or wrongly (who am I to judge) spoil this place...

Open Beta firmware is for competent and experienced users as it may not always be stable and could even, "brick", your phone. If you install it, you do so at your own risk. It is not guaranteed to solve your problems. Once on Open Beta you will no longer receive the normal, stable, updates and will need to wipe your phone completely to revert back to stable. Please read post #20 of this thread before attempting to go to Open Beta.

    https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/tool-6t-msmdownloadtool-v4-0-oos-9-0-5-t3867448

I followed these instructions, but the first download link from androidfilehost didn't work, so I chose to try a different one.

I'm afraid without my pc Infront of me, I can't tell you the exact details of the download etc, but the instructions from XDA are way better than I could give you anyway.

If you're still stuck, then I found a few guides on YouTube too.

In theory beta is potentially less stable than the stock updates. It also is best if you are comfortable and familiarise yourself with the process of how to roll back to the stock path if you wish.

As for risks, well I'd say that these betas are very stable and safe (plenty of others in here have had different experiences, and would disagree), but obviously there is potential for more risk with any beta software.
