Assumptions are on both sides. It could be right. It could be not.

Uhmm ... What app are you trying? I can switch between normal and Google dialer just fine. Try with Google dialer as this will test if it's the ROM or not.

#2 ... Are you flashing with the OTA app or with TWRP? I've never had TWRP overwrite itself

You must be reading old articles written for NiCad batteries! Never discharge a LiPo battery to 0 (OS won't even let you) and if you charge to 100 the OS will switch off AC power and immediately start using the battery to drain it down. You ideally want to keep the battery between 20 and 80. Don't obsess over it, but charge often!

I own OP3. Since Nougat update I have issues with making phone calls - phone screen turns on after few seconds or minutes, when I make calls, but it should not. OP wrote in their 4.1.6 update log, that the problem with proximity sensor is fixed, but it is the same by me (BTW this is the common issue). Now I have installed Google dialer and everything is OK by now. So there must be an issue with OOS dialer... Maybe someone has experienced the same problem?

I have installed Google dialer from this link:

    Good choice.
Do consider the Google contacts app along with it.
    They work gr8.

You will find it on the apkmirror website.
After installing it, disable the stock contacts app.

Most of the time we prefer to have LTE only network for SIM1 but may be 2G only for SIM2 as 3G coverage poor compared to 2G. Also more battery consumption on 3G signal

If coverage is poor, the auto setting will adjust. There is no 2G in most places in the US. It's a dual standby SIM, so if you have one SIM in LTE mode, I don't think battery will improve by trying to drop down the technology of the second SIM. Not even sure if you can adjust the modes separately

Yes, we can com.qualcomm.network settings helped us to do that but since Beta 17 we lost that setting. Also every OEM has that feature in network setting. So Oneplus too should provide that feature

Don't know if that helps, but here's what I do:
    1. Open dialer
    2. choose to input a phone number
    3. input the following number: *#*#4636#*#*
    4. a menu should appear
    5. choose the first entry ("telephone information" or similiar)
    6. now you can set your preferred network type to LTE only or whatever you want.
    7. with dual SIM, I think you need to choose in the dialer from which SIM you want to "call" to select a SIM...

    Sorry to say .
But if you really need that functionality very badly, then it would be best for you to revert back to the build which supports it.
Functionality / features gets added and removed in beta build for reasons well known by the op developers for now.
