The 5G 7 and 7t was always some kind of niche limited edition devices and often carrier specific... Just too much that makes those phones a big no no for me. Early adopter drawbacks.
8 series made 5G mainstream. That makes it a god time to join the 5G train (depending on where you live ofcourse).

I am on the 5G train, thanks, but feeling somewhat left out by OnePlus.

Older but higher volume sold devices. Purely in numbers the 7/7t 5G devices would be a barely noticable number compared to 6/6t or regular 7/7t series.

Still no justification. They're shabbily treating one small group of their userbase/customers. The OS update was hugely late, this one has no beta and no telling when 11 will end up on the 7 Pro 5G.

    It's simply not good enough.

By personal experiance from early adopter of both 3G and 4G.... My first 3G phone went nuts when it actually got an 3g enabled card. Sucked so bad. Even sending sms was a challenge all the sudden. Sent the device in a few times. Was never solved. The device basically instantly was removed from the market... I had to replace the device much faster than necessary.
It wasn't that bad when I got my first 4G though... But the drain and issues basically made me avoid 4G a lot...
So... Those 2 experiances. Were they right or simply just a pretty normal negative side of being an early adopter?
I'd say early adoption is always with some added risk or negative side.

If you bought it from a carrier, then yes.

Why? Many people will have got their 1+ from a carrier. I fail to see what possible difference it would make.

    FWIW I'm in Europe.

I bought my 7 Pro (factory unlocked) from a reseller and my 6 directly from OP. Why I ask is because when bought from a carrier, normally those phones get updates from the carrier they bought them from, not from the OEM themselves (unless you convert it like T-Mo devices). Could explain why you're not receiving updates as often or have access to the Open Beta builds.

I'm not entirely sure if this is the same in Europe but in the States it's been like this since the iPhone back in 2007.

I'm definitely not getting carrier updates - the Android 10 updates are coming at the same time as the 7 Pro. I think the Pro 5G was locked in America (was that on Sprint?), but not the case over here.

    Sprint and T-Mo, yeah.

Ah, so you got lucky then.

Its already addded to your phone as a "OnePlus Buds" app. Search in your app list.

The 7 Pro 5G was initially for Finish Elisia and UK EE. Think I've seen some other location. But that was about it. Not carrier phone in the normal sense, but not far from it.

Analyze battery drain (maybe some app acting crazy). Correct the issue. Do a full charge + some additional time connected at 100% or force a background optimizing via adb shell.

    cmd package bg-dexopt-job
