Exactly what I thought... Had to keep running a script to disable Doze before it was available in Developer options for the OP2. Just done it on my OP5T and notifications seem to be working better now... Not this fiasco again...

The problem is that there is no 'Doze' under Developer options on the Beta 2.

    This is true!

You should be able to disable it via an adb command: adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable
    Confirmation: idle mode disabled

Works until the phone is restarted then the command has to be run again.

i also think that the problem might be caused by the fact that the clock app has not been opened after beta 2 install (it is inactive). Mine didn't ring so i have tried to open the clock app and will see if it will ring tomorrow. I guess all inactive apps will behave like this until they are opened our toggle to make them active. settings>developer options>inactive apps

My clock app is 'active' and is cached as background process as well. Unfortunately, the alarm clock doesn’t ring at all.

    Hi,
How were the "power consumption measurements" improved?
Because I still can't figure out why (all my android phones) consume significantly more battery at work than usual.

Opening it after it failed will activate it. Have tried it after that? I am not certain of anything but am just trying to find a simpler solution,

    Quick question

If one install the betas when GM, final or OTA release client is available can you update from beta to final release without reseting the phone completely. ie a seamless transition from beta to official release?

Did you wiped cache only when going beta 1?
I wiped system and cache then installed beta 1, booted, wiped cache. Installed beta 2, booted, wiped cache. No problems at all. No closing apps, no battery issues, fast, responsive, no Fingerprint mess, no duplicated notifications. Everything works nicely
