    Please note:
    1. If you have already flashed an Open Beta (you are currently running the latest Open Beta) you will receive this new build as an OTA.
    2. If you ARE NOT running open beta software and would like to, please refer to the flashing instructions and the full ROM found in the downloads page here: http://downloads.oneplus.net/
    3. Once you migrate to the Beta path, you will continue to receive Open Beta OTAs. You will NO LONGER receive the regular Official Stable OTAs.
    4. Moving back to the Official OTA path from the Beta path will require a full install and clean flash (FULL WIPE of all data and cache)

Battery life for me in beta 2 is great! Much better than the stable Nougat 7.1.1 build.
The only problem is much lower brightness, which can't be adjusted with screen off notifications. They are hardly visible.

Try and go to the dialer, and press #*808# -> Screen backlight test, and what does it say there?

If it blinks bright and dark, then all is fine.
Otherwise, you need to adjust the brightness up to 100%, and then back into the #*808# -> LCD brightness, and adjust it there

Why do you hate it? It is the best, I can have notifications silent while phone ringer loud. It is the best of both worlds.
Should be in all roms. Shouldn't need to install an app for this.

Because I want to have same volume for notifications / ringer. But I understand that someone else, like you, might want it differently. That is why they should make it as option, so everyone can choose.

It just displays "Open backlight light" text, and keeps switching between Open and Close.
Ah ok, I saw you edited your post. I'll check.
Oneplus simply reduced the screen brightness in this build, and screen off notification brightness is too low. They need to turn the brightness up.
And of course they need to fix the alarm. It would be good if they can release quick fixes for these two problems...

Picture in picture not included in open beta? I can't seem to make it work with youtube in Chrome or navigation.

YouTube native app isn't working, but in Chrome it works.
    Also Maps work fine here.

Seems that the equilizer is disabled for Bluetooth connections. Switching the audio codec is also removed. This you just can do in developer settings... aptx seems to be standard now.

When I saw that OnePlus Switch was added, I was thinking it might be so that somebody on Nougat could use it to do a backup, before flashing the Oreo ROM. but that's not the case, so this is just like preinstalling company bloatware isn't it?

While I'm here, has anyone had success or problems doing a backup in Nougat then restoring in Oreo? Not sure what the best option is that also includes SMS messages.

Can anyone tell me how to get the calendar sound choice to be none? I want the calendar to pop up the notification but I do not want a sound notification. And it seems this is the google calendar modified a little bit, so I don't have a choice that I can locate for the tone to choose none.
