Beta on 3 was to design the ROM for the 5, so the Beta channel for the 5 will be when they are getting ready to release the OP6

Uhmm ... Go look at the list of the "new" features of the OOS 4.5. Now look at the difference between the Stable 4.1 series and Beta. Hey look ... EVERY new feature of 4.5 that you don't get in 4.1 is right here in Beta! We've been testing for OP5 users, not for us. We get security patch updates in the stable channel like OP2 does!

yeah i see what you're saying but that doesn't mean that the op3 beta program was just meant to develop the op5 OS... we had the beta program way before the 5 was even conceived (since the MM days)... ofcource they tested some (not all) features on 3 before 5, and they do from profit point of view have some right to exclusively add some features to just the 5 at the beginning at least otherwise they wont sell devices, it's not ideal for 3/3t owner...
are we getting the op2 treatment... well, the latest stable and the latest beta came in time, the transferring of features from beta to stable is almost the same since MM (even on MM there were features that existed only on beta), there's no real indication that OnePlus is abandoning the 3/3t devices (actually there's no reason at this point to do so) , the 3/3t community is still much bigger than the 5 and even as "guinea pigs" the 3 community offer a bigger testing pole...
i don't think the 3/3t will get the 2 treatment, that would be stupid on OPs part, the 2 circumstances were different, doing the the same to 3 would be like an official statement to their customer base that the OP device is good for only 1 year (software wise) then you either buy the new or you're not supported...and i hope they're not that stupid, this time it can harm (or kill) the brand...a
are we really going to get O? are we going to get updates on stable and beta on the same timely manner? will feature from beta make their way to stable?!!! it's all speculation really , and mine is we at least are getting O , which will put OP on a 2 years OS support cycle...we'll see.

It's disappointing that with so many more 3/3T in the wild that we're still stuck on the May security build even on the beta, when the 5 has now been updated to July's.

Let's see what the rest of the week brings, updates wise.
