Well, since the A/B partition isn't implemented on OP5/T, I'd expect it to fall in line in the first beta of Oreo last year, which came in November if I'm not wrong. So probably we should have it within the next two betas, by my expectation.

Also, you're right. This is a discussion thread about the beta, and since bug reports are not submitted here, I'd like to think this sort of a discussion is far more useful than the "OnePlus no give pie" posts that are no doubt going to flood this thread.

    Now that's very useful...
Security patch is great and all that but... It's like 1 month late. Sadly, Samsung delivers security patches faster. (Personally, I don't even care about security patches)

What has A/B partitioning to do with fast updates? I don't see a relation there, you bother to elaborate?
Only thing this specific partitioning scheme is speeding up is the direct update process on the device itself and not even this, it only provides a seamless experience to the user as the user won't experience any down time while running a updated as it happens on the alternative / mirrored partition...

Only factor which indeed speeds up the porting of a new Android version upgrade to a specific device is "project treble", which was sort of implemented month ago, obviously for no reason or it wasn't implemented fully/correctly which would explain why they unexpectedly pushed treble related changes on OOS 5.1.6, don't know...

Guys, please be patient. I'm sure now that the OnePlus 6T has been announced and will soon be released the development resources will have the time to settle down and focus on a wider array of devices, Like the 6, 5T and the 5. I'm sure we'll have Android Pie before the end of the year, fingers crossed!

From the 79MB of this beta update I already tested the 78MB from the Android security patch of 2018.10, and The 1MB of bug fixes, and have to say it's all ok, so you fine to bring us OxygenOS 9.
    Thank you for your effort!

That's itttt......think before if u r planning to buy 6T...they will avoid you partially after (even before 20 days of release) OP7 release and then updates will be drastically avoided when OP7T comes...

Please, if you want top features buy new 6T and forget your old outdated OnePlus device.
Don't wait for OP7 that come without Notch or tears and with 5G capabilities a better camera and are coming in just a few months!
