I don't know where you live, but here in the U. S. the new Pixel XL's will still cost hundreds of dollars more than the newest OnePlus

Stand-by for an influx of Android Developer Preview and other assorted noobs, that all want to flash the latest Open Beta release as it is a prelude to Android 10 Open Beta.

I have my beer and potato chips at the ready... :D

Describe "slower update". What other phones (other than iPhone and Pixel (both which control the software development, mind you)) other than the latest flagships get the latest updates?

I can confirm the new 6/6T beta is a big download, but it appears to change nothing...yet.

Playing Devil's advocate here because I agree with you, but the Essential Phone is one that can be said gets same day updates as the Pixel line does.

That being said, this is what 1+ does. Their current model phone gets the update almost instantly (7/pro). The 6/T will get it next, and I haven't even been following if the 5 will get it. The delay between models isn't even that long, so it'll be coming much sooner than any of the other companies like Samsung or LG.

Exactly. we will have Android 10 on the 6/T, which is last year's device, waaay before the LG G8 and Galaxy S10 get it.
