you're supposed to report the bugs to OnePlus when you're in the beta program and not try to use workarounds, this proves that you don't understand what a beta is.

it's the very first beta of Oreo. it most likely will. really not the best move to put beta software on your dad's phone

This makes me wonder how the average consumer is supposed to upgrade from Nougat to Oreo once stable is out...?! The majority doesn't know how to clean flash a device and they actually just upgrade once they get the offer to upgrade. I don't think your argumentation is correct.

Hey thanks bud. I got a simple walkthrough which totally solved the issue. Just go to PlayStore and type in OnePlus launcher in the search bar. Open the destination and simply click unistall (as it's already installed as a system file). It won't show any progress whatsoever. Don't worry. Just press the home button and come back to play store after a couple of mins. Type in OnePlus launcher again in the search bar. Now, you won't see the uninstall option any more. Instead it will point to your installed files and show it to you as installed.
Go back to your home screen and long press on an empty space to launch the wallpaper and widget selector. No more launcher crashes.
    worked fine for me.

System dark theme not working properly, when I touch anything in the system settings near the lines it has a weird green discoloration where I touch.

For those who are having a bad time with the new update. I did a complete wipe before hand (via factory reset in the boot recovery). I then installed the full beta 16(oreo) installer package via local upgrade in the recovery. After the update I then allowed my phone to do all of its own optimizations before booting into recovery to wipe cache. My phone is now running oreo with good performance and very few bugs
