I am getting Kernel wake locks also in the app. I'll post the screenshots after 30 min. My phone is fully charged now and it needs some time off the charger to populate data. By the way, I am not rooted and I gave all the permissions via adb commands.

Do you get the kernel wakelock properly without root.

Might be interesting to know what your conclusions were and which specific apps you found that you have replaced with alternatives. :)

Okay. First I want to make it clear that I have turned off Battery Optimisation for all apps from Battery page in Settings. I have left Doze on from the developer options. I wanted to know how much each app consumed without Battery Optimisation turned on.
Let us start with Facebook Messenger. It is one app which sucks more battery than Facebook app especially with those annoying floating heads while chatting. Time and again it is responsible for many wakelocks and add facebook to it with its constant necessity to refresh in the background, the top 2 spots are filled. Then comes Google Cloud Services. I made an interesting observation. Turning off location history has cut the battery usage by approximately half but at the loss of Google Now and Google Assistant. Then come WhatsApp and Signal but nothing can be done about them as I use them extensively. Outlook sucks battery life when I receive multiple mails and it is crappy when downloading attachments especially large ones. Twitter is kind of in between but I think that is because I use it only for a few minutes a day. Instagram sucks battery when messages are sent and received. Otherwise it doesn't cause battery drain. OnePlus Community app is not a big battery drainer but I use the webpage for most uses. I have it in case I need to follow up on notifications. Chrome does drain battery especially for heavy uses like playing audio or video in the background. I switched to Firefox and the battery improved a little bit but not a substantial gain. I will try other browsers overtime.
I replaced Facebook+messenger and Twitter with Metal. I like Metal because I can set refresh intervals and also the awesome dark theme. I removed Outlook app and currently using my Outlook account in the Gmail app itself. I will try some other app very soon as Gmail is crappy and it sucks when it comes to managing outlook account. Battery improved a bit since Outlook is refreshed at the set interval in gmail app and notifications are not instantaneous. I have removed all shopping apps and pinned websites on my home screen and that saved some battery. Replaced Chrome with Firefox.
That is pretty much it. I could squeeze two hours more battery using these methods. Battery lasts for 14 hours (a whole day considering from 8:00 to 22:00) with 5-10% left in the evening. I am getting an average of 5 hours of SOT. My phone is 1 year and 3 months old and battery wear also needs to be accounted.

when it's off (idk how to use that thing) there is notification flood of apps which don't use or rarely use!

Thanks, those were about the same conclusions I had, although I use friendly as substitute for Facebook and brave for chrome. :)

Well... for my usage Firefox seems to be battery friendly. Not much of a difference to be honest.

Let's hope beta 20 comes because from the look of things OnePlus are finding it difficult to keep up with all 4 phones, 3, 3T, 5 and 5T.
