OxygenOS Open Beta 3 for OnePlus 6

It would be really nice if there are any input (one sentence is enough, really) from Oneplus - are they continuing Open beta? That would prevent so many posts and questions that are cluttering this forum. So that people can know if they should switch to Stable or wait for the new Open beta builds.

Also, is it not weird that currently Open beta version is actually older than Stable version? That is like punch to the eye to all Open beta users that were actually willing to test beta version and to report bugs. And in the end they are rewarded with this - that all of them on Open beta 3 are running older version than Stable?!

Beta channel will keep getting updates... It will be ahead of Stable always... Beta 3 is higher version that stable... That's why people couldn't instal directly, because it's a downgrade...
And the actual beta testers, will never feel that way.. We are here to test and report bugs out of passion.. Not install beta just to get new features and bragging rights..

Then it was the restart that worked for you, not clearing a non existing chache partition!

then try to explain to me how clearing something that does not exist, would have any effect

if you would like to try it, look at the size of the cache of one of your apps. if you then go in recovery and clear the cache you will see it is immediately at 100% cleared.
after the restart you will also notice that the time to restart is not longer as usually. In the past this would take at least 1 minute more because of the rebuild of the cache partition.

the last check would be to look at the size of the cache of the app from the beginning, it is still the same .

if you then still don't believe me, believe the people of XDA who explained it in a lot of places, just use search.

    This is a very good/clear starting point : https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...ess-updates-affect-custom-development-on-xda/

I'm obviously not scrolling through all the responses here, BUT the brightness ISSUE remains a problem to speak about despite the threads about it being closed.
    here starts my personal rant:
we have paid for a working Brightness sensor, not how "Google has.made it" or how "Google changed it into". it's my absolute right to report what, to me, is an issue/bug, despite it being HOW GOOGLE HAS MADE IT.
I want my sensor to work, not to "leave it on full brightness" because that's "how Google changed it into".
fix it in the next update SHOULD really be something to consider.

It's absolute your right to complain, its only hard to fix something that is not broken. Just for a few days adjust the brightness to the setting you like, and the AI system will learn your preference. After adjusting the brightness for a couple of days it will work like a charme and you wont have to touch it again.

And yes I am sorry for you but thats how google made it. Perhaps you would like to have your Pegeuot car look like a Jaguar, but sorry thats just how they made the Pegeuot. If you don't like it by a Jaguar.

the "if you don't want a Peugeot buy a jaguar" thing is absolutely nonsense, since that's what the community is here for. report what are the problems found by the community in order to solve them. I don't think we are here to only share other stuff that someone can easily find on XDA. right?

that said, I reported what for me is a problem. you cannot by a jaguar, use it for some time, then at first time you see a mechanic pulls out your perfect engine and puts a Peugeot inside, telling you "that's how jaguar made it :)". and be quiet about it.

    nice day.
