It may auto update. Mine auto updated on Beta 2,so it carried over into Beta 3.

It's a little early to tell, but so far battery life seems to be better than beta 2. One more thing: I really like the new hide notch option. The old one was basically the same as having a notch, but apps would just have the wrong (black) colored status bar. This new method is perfect.

Can I just switch from stable 10 to beta 10 without data loss?

And why the roms are not provided by oneplus and i have to Download it by userlinks?

    Update went smoothly.
Unfortunately split screen functionality is still broken in beta 3:

    I'm using button-navigation.
When long pressing the "Recents"-Button, split screen mode gets enabled but current app is still shown fullscreen. Navigation is broken until split screen mode is disabled again (which sometimes doesn't work).

Other have experienced similar issues, even on OnePlus 7. This seems to be an general issue with OxygenOS based on Android 10:

The new notch hide option is awesome.
Finally the way pixel 3 xl was.

This way I can use the whole width of the display for notification icons and the notch is really hidden.

    Great. Thanks.

I actually suggested this as a feature request over a year Ago.

well let's hope OnePlus is adding a third option to hide the notch, like it did in Pie.

Yeah. You all complained like hell that there was no hide notch option in A10. Then when they add it you continue to complain. If I were OnePlus I tell you to go **** yourselves.

Would have been nice if OnePlus included a link to download Beta 2 off their website. I guess they're not confident enough to include it just yet

You can't get it directly from OnePlus at the moment. You can get it from the Oxygen Updater if you don't mind getting it from a third party app

Hope you have used hide notch option on OP6, it didnt work like it does now.
And Gboard doesn't have an issue on Samsung phones so it's not a Google issue.
Regarding security patch other OEM are updating their devices to December patch also I haven't seen any article regarding Google halting this patch.
And I forgot to mention finger print scanner it's an utter mess, with every new update it's responsiveness goes down.

Haven't installed the new beta yet, but for those not liking the new hide notch design, it's better this way. When you screenshot with the notch hidden back in Pie, you have the only black bar on top (the status bar) with the rest of the screen having colors.

Pushing the status bar down when hiding the notch brings uniformity to the screen you're actually looking at and using.

You made me laugh.................. Do you know Xiaomi 9 also has this third option (like OnePlus in Pie would do) ?

Fingerprint was in and out for me before the beta, but after updating to the beta fingerprint now no longer shows in the settings. Additionally, when using the app locker, it says "Fingerprint hardware not available". Can't seem to get into testing mode to test the sensor, and I've tried clearing the cache and storage of the fingerprint service.
