    As far as I know the T stands for one step over the S (OnePlus wants to be the Chinese Apple [not my words])

    2 years support is the standard set by Google, not a requirement but OEM's are expected to follow suit, more would mean encouraging you to keep a phone for longer which is a strategy of diminishing returns in the end.

    What I meant is wait for the 6T since it has hardware improvements which now is more tangible than the 1 1/2 years of support the T models receive since they fall in the same update cycle as the original model.

    My line of thought is: you'll end up flashing a custom rom after 2 years regardless if you plan on keeping the device for more than 2 years, so take the phone with the better specs also the resale pricing of the base model falls a lot harder than the T one

    There you get your answer

    "Technology"= benefits

    It's unfortunately the only way (at least if you've not got a Pixel device) to keep devices updated. Android has this kind of problems, it tries to improve and shorten the existing distance between they and Apple.

    oh no trust me I don't expect a OEM (be it OnePlus with the little revenue they can make, or any other by just being lazy ej. Samsung, LG) to update phones past one Android version update; again there's no revenue in making old phones feel like new.

    My thing is, want to put out a new phone every six months? give that phone 2 years of updated from it's launch not from the launch of the old model that has the same name, if you're trying to be the Android Apple, the S lineup runs software updates further than original phone

    One very serious question tho… why every body here is calling battery performance, discharge time, duration, etc. battery backup? is it just me not having a UPS on my 3 cuz if it has one I want one

    It's a term, seems to be mainly used in India (Don't all get your torches and pitchforks out) to describe battery life. @calvinistmac and I have been trying to get people to use the correct term for a long time now
