Are you sure about this? OnePlus 7 10.0.2 stable contains a lot of system changes including "Optimized charging performance with the third-party chargers" what I didn't see in any open beta changelog.

first of all we know how GPS works
who said GPS doesn't work indoors I'm not living in a basement
and if it doesn't work it's spouse to show GPS signal is lost not show you're location somewhere else

Me too. So I found this via Google search. Refers to Pixel and "other Android devices".

Not everything is worth testing before in an open beta and most likely the charing performance thing is only a parameter that has been needed to change. But feature (and more complex fixes) wise, yes, I'm quite sure that nothing goes into a stable without being tested in at least closed beta first (and most likely also being tested in open beta also).

Otherwise this construction of closed beta, open beta and stable wouldn't make any sense and only creates more work.

Btw. even we in our small hobby group had similar structures (and some if not most of the developer of Oxygen came from this scene) with closed beta (that has been our own devices and a handfull of special users), open betas (the nightlies) and a stable version (the weekly version). And everything followed the same way. Testing in closed beta then goes to nightlies and then finally find his way to the weekly.

And even big players like Samsung have a similar scheme with beta testers (also I don't think they have a real open beta group, even that is a closed one).

Well, it's kinda more complicated than that. When you're in a basement, only fractions of the messages (signal) sent by these satellites get to you. Sometimes even refracted. Not to mention that Android uses a fused location provider, which uses satellites, mobile signal towers, and various other sources of data to pinpoint your location precisely. E.g. often when I'm at Luton London airport, especially at the gate, my phone shows me in Russia...

I can give you an approximate year. 2020. But it might happen sooner (unlikely though).

Security patch is of Nov. First checkout then comment.

There's a problem with the December Security patch, because of which even Pixels got it only recently. However you can manually check for Google Play Services update and you'll get the December patch
