But if you trigger code optimization your battery will surely go down. OnePlus has no option (even with root) to stop charging at certain percent AND let device to use power ONLY from power supply, which would be great.

Or simply start using solid state batteries [e]1f61c[/e] Looks promising. Degradation is supposed to be very different and charge speeds will increase greatly.

It's supposed to optimize on charger and make the phone fully optimized when being used off the charger. The result would be less drain. That is why charing patterns could affect drain in the long run.

Finally Open Beta 7 is released, only 3.5 weeks from the last one :p What happened to twice-a-month Beta updates?

Anyways, some interesting things in the changelog. Optimized Battery Charging for one will be very fun to see how it works, and save us some battery degradation as well.

Regarding UI changes, I like the new Google Assistant animation, seems like the one used on the Pixels, except white, and the animation when icons pop up in the status bar is neat as well.

However, since Beta 1 (and partially the Dev Previews), I've been asking for the new Android Q icons in QuickSettings and Status Bar. The builds in developer preview had some of the new icons, like WiFi, but they were removed in Beta 1 and 2.

Just noticed that we do indeed have a new battery saver icon, which is similar to the Android 10 style and in fact I do quite like it, so if this is the style for the remaining icons (and battery when it's not in Battery Saver) I'll be happy haha

Overall solid update, smoothness has been great, performance has been great, and battery life seems to be the same, if not slightly better.
