This Open Beta build also brings One-handed mode.

By swiping down on the left or the right edge of the screen, you can pull the screen down to reach those elements that are too far to reach with your thumb. You can then swipe back up to return the screen to its original state.

To try it, head to Settings -> Buttons & Gestures -> Quick Gestures -> Enable one-handed mode.
You can also tap the option to see a small tutorial on how to use this new feature.

Be sure to try it and let us know your thoughts.

The idea is to swipe down to get to elements that you otherwise wouldn't be able to and then swipe up to return to the full size.

It's not useless, just different than what you'd expect.

With the one handed mode, you are supposed to reach hard to get places (the top part of the phone). So with that in mind the feature is pretty useful.

Damn, just rolled back to stable to get rid of the battery drain and heating issues.
    Now this is tempting!
    I guess OnePlus never wants me to SETTLE ;_;

I am using OnePlus 7 with Oxygen OS 10.3.0 GM57AA, found some issues and missing features that earlier update has, as mentioned below:
    * Front camera is not having pinched zoom
    * When using phone in low/dim light and dial a call the phone screen gets closed, the phone assumed that it is nearby your ear, which needs to be optimized
    * Capturing slow motion videos in evening or later, causes lots of noise where normal video capturing doesn't fall in that.
    * Oneplus in-built calculator doesn't have editable textbox (means you can't change the digits when written in between)
    * Auto-brightness is not performing upto the mark, it most of the time dim the brightness even in normal light, needs optimization
Hope team should look into this and do some improvisation in the upcoming update.
    Thanks
    Amit

yes i understand that but I would prefer what others OEM are doing which just make the overall display smaller. just my 2cents. or provide 2 ways of settings, smaller display or the one we have right now.

But this is the beauty of the Open Beta builds. :)

If you don't like something or if you think a different implementation is better, you are encouraged to give the development team your feedback. That way, you're literally helping OnePlus improving OxygenOS.
