OxygenOS Open Beta 8 for the OnePlus 7T Pro and 7T Sep 16, 2020

    Hey everyone,

    With @Abdul B. currently on a short leave, I'm here to bring you the information on the latest open beta builds for the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro.

    Changelog
    • System
      • Fixed the known issues with screen recorder
      • Fixed the issue that the notification bar did not respond occasionally
      • Updated Android security patch to 2020.09
      • Updated GMS package to 2020.08
    • Game space
      • Newly added gaming tools box for convenient switches of Fnatic mode. You can now choose three ways of notifications: text only, heads up, and block just for your immersive gaming experience
      • Newly added quick reply feature in the small window for WhatsApp and INS (Enable it by swiping down from upper right/left corners of the screen in gaming mode)
      • Newly added mistouch prevention feature. Enable it, swipe down from the top of the screen, click and the notification bar will pop out
    • Community
      • Add the Best Answer function, which allows you to mark others' answers. Best Answer will also be rewarded with experience points
      • Add mall function, you can buy mobile phones and other OnePlus products more conveniently
      • Optimized the log information capture function

    Please keep in mind that this is beta software. These builds are sometimes not as stable as our official OTAs generally are. By installing this update, you accept the potential risks. For those who were on previous versions for OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro, we appreciate your active feedback and for reaching out to us. With your help, we have been able to better optimize and improve several key areas. Thank you for your patience and as always, we look forward to getting your continued feedback via the Community app.

    If you don't have the Community app installed on your device, feel free to download it HERE. You can check here for more information on the integrated Feedback tool.

    Please note:
    • If you have already flashed an Open Beta (you are currently running the latest Open Beta), you will receive this new build as an OTA.
    • If you are not running open beta software and would like to, please refer to the flashing instructions and the full ROM on the downloads page here.
    • Once you migrate to the Beta path, you will continue to receive Open Beta OTAs. You will no longer receive the regular Official Stable OTAs.
    • Moving back to the Official OTA path from the Beta path will require a full install and clean flash (full wipe of all data and cache).
    Make sure to let us know how you feel about the beta builds here in the thread too. We are watching.

    Oxygenos update in charge (A) - It's been a month.. we need to give them an update..they are crying in the forums

    Oxygenos guys (B) - oh no. We have nothing. We were working on the Nord and op 8 software updates.

    A - s&*t. We're screwed. What do we do now?

    B - the teams developing the community app and game space app might hav something.

    A - Great! Send me those apk files. And fix 2/3 of the easiest bugs you can find. Put all those in a flashable zip. Voila! You have an update.
    They think they get a bug fix / new feature update. But instead we will ship them 2/3 app updates as a phone software update.


    PS - I know the devs are working hard on OOS11.. this was just a stupid joke. :)

    I have enabled the "hide the bottom bar" setting in: Settings / button & gestures / Navigation bar & gestures but my Oneplus 7t keeps occasionally showing the bottom bar. Furthermore, on the keyboards, an arrow is shown in the lower left corner (in my case gboard) which is the consequence of this bug that has not been solved even with this update.

    I think it will be out by November for 7 series. I am too waiting for Oxygen Os 11 Open beta!

    It's a beta forum as you can read in title, don't complaint stable bugs here there's official forum to discuss about that

    We are stupid waiting for one handed mode, oneplus buds support or android 11 beta update on our oneplus 7t pro.
    Last 4-5 months they have been giving us bugs fixes only and all the new features are coming on oneplus 8 or Nord.
    .
    .
    Oneplus has been so busy copying apple or samsung that they have forgotten that they have other models too.
    After oneplus 8t maybe oneplus 8 will not recieve updates also.
