unfortunately it's not in buttons, but in apps\default apps\assist and voice input\assist app. and select Google. the option in buttons only allows the long press of the power button to activate the assistant.

Yes and in buttons you can also choose the google app, if you switch the button setting off then on again it lets you choose google app. So it does work!

The only issue is see is OxygenOS closing background apps way to quickly (doesn't happen on my workphone Pixel 3),
but that's probably a result of them listening to users whining about "battery draining issues".

But as you said, there is no battery draining or brightness issue.

In fact I read about this a lot and most of the time these users
    a) do not provide enough information on their battery issues
    b) still do not understand how brightness is handled in Pie (if this is what you mean, you are not very specific once again).

user mistakes and not reading about how the brightness function of pie has been changed by Google has nothing to do with real issues!

There's no brightness issue. Read how the screen brightness is handled on Pie. A little search on Google won't hurt you

Again, if you have a problem with the brightness, it's because you didn't set it correctly. So, it's your fault not One Plus'

What exactly is your issue? The display not going to 100% brightness outdoors? It does for me, regardless of which apps I use. It even goes into HBM (High Brightness Mode) outdoors in bright sunlight (can be observed by the changing sun icon next to the brightness slider).

I want the Oreo brightness...not pie brightness...I want to get Oreo brightness by software...and also battery is little issue with this... if we don't use anything nite and after next day morning it gets 6 to 7 percent less which is not in other brands...this two issues...

Pull down the statusbar and increase brightness.
Pie will remember your brightness-level with time according to the measured light and will adjust it correctly.
It works on my device as intended. I literally never touch the slider anymore.

100% brightness on Oreo = 100% brightness on Pie

My device loses around 2-3% per Night (with everything active in the background, no flightmode)
