I'm seeing a number of recommendations re not upgrading over MM and instead performing a clean flash. Whilst I completely support that this is the cleanest way to install a new build it isn't representative of what the average OP3 user will do when this is an official release. Part of beta testing has to be to perform 'real world' testing - I'm pretty sure that OP won't expect users on 3.2.8 to wipe and clean install so surely we should be actively testing the 'in-place upgrade'. It worked flawlessly for me for the record...

Why are this people asking OVER AND OVER again when the oficial nougat will arrive??

Jez.... Nobody knows, and asking so many times won't help at all

Strange, had the same problem, but once i flashed the recovery back to the offical one, update worked like a charm without wiping the phone.
At the moment, i can't tell what's all the mess with TRWP. Since going up to Nougat-based Roms, i wasn't able to flash / backup & restore without hassels like passwords in twrp or warnings about corrupted bootloaders / bootloops.. You name it (of cause OEM-Lock is unlocked).
Maybe the price 4 beeing at the bloody edge of development ^^

@SoniaB: For bug reporting issues on OB9 do we use "Openbeta N 161130" as OS version or wait till a new entry for 161214 is created ? This is in the Create Bug form.

I will report to admins that bug reporting does not have it listed yet.
Report under 161130 for now but in comments state its for 161214

At some point, possibly android o ,f2fs is going to be mandatory at that point users are going to have to do a clean install. It is entirely possible OnePlus might insist on a clean install for N, we simply at this point do not know.

Excellent update, speed wise. Test antu tu and had over 160K on the Open beta 9 without rooting or any props (see attached). So am happy with that!

    Was on beta 8.

    1) Booted to TWRP .28
    2) Flashed beta 9 .zip
    3) Flashed TWRP .img in order not to stick with stock recovery after rebooting
    4) Flashed SuperSU-SR5
    5) Rebooted system

Device booted, everything seems ok, BUT right after the screen informing that the bootloader is unlocked, i now get another one screen saying "dm-verity is not started in enforcing mode and may not work properly".

Do you know what is this message about?

Not sure you can trust the average Smartphone user to do a clean install, just in case they brick their phone in the process? It will be interesting to see how OP deal with this update.

On past phones I have had major Android versions with enforced clean installs, I'm talking some years ago mind you (HTC magic if memory serves) but with Google Backup these days no reason a clean flash couldn't be instituted.

Yes, using TWRP is currently breaking DM verity, meaning that the phone is less secure at a system level. You have two options either put up with it or flash stock recovery and refresh the rom.
