Will we get further official updates after this fix? Or will the sofware version somehow be seen as custom and be excluded from future updates?

Not sure, nothing is mentioned. So if you are facing with this issue, then just use this temporary solution.

This seems to only affect 1 to 1 messages. WhatsApp parallel crash, have any update come for this problem

Is this an official fix? Actually I didn't found any official response from OnePlus. Quite disappointing...

You were the first one to report the fix wasn't working. Too bad for you.

It would be realy nice to get a statement from One Plus. I realy don't like to install apks that "someone" has uploaded without any future or detailed information. Even if it will work, the security risks are to high.

Can't help on this part. If you don't trust what's posted here, nothing much I can do. I could have screenshot the conversation I had with the Bug Hunter and share it here but do I really need to do it? I don't see a need to prove anything here. Maybe you can create your own thread and request them to reply to you. Have a nice day.

    Thank you for the reply.

The main issue is that this is some modified code from OnePlus. There is no source available etc. I've take a look deeper into this apk. There is much code that is replacing existing ones, also the certificate of the apk claims to be One Plus but is in reality a non-valid self-signed certificate. So, my opinion is that there is no guarantee that there is not injected some malicious code that mess up with your private data. If there is nothing to hide i'dont understand why the source and changes are not public available on github for example. So, everyone can convince herself.

I'm sorry but this is not against you, it's only that today you can't be careful enough with some apks that are posted without any future information. There are justified reasons questioning about details. It’s just too easy to compromise devices because most users will install software package without any future questions. Have a nice day.

Anyone knows how to remove this "fix" because now I receive calls from known numbers and contact name doesn't appear, only the number...

Better not. For me didn't fix. And now calls from known contacts are just presenting the number...
