Other Password during bootup (Recovery Mode)

    Felixsc , Jun 27, 2018 :
While I was watching YouTube, my OnePlus 5 just restarted and then showed me the screen you can see in the picture. For some reason it wants me to type in a password, but I have no password set. The support which I already contacted told me that I have to use the password of the e-mail-adress I used during setup, which didn't work (I have two-step authentication enabled on my google account). They then told me that the only two options would be a hard reset, which I don't want to do, or I could keep trying passwords until I found the right one. Has anyone ever had this or a similar problem and what was your solution?

UPDATE: I could get into recovery mode by typing in my lockscreen passcode, but now I still can't get out of recovery mode without doing a hard reset

After keying in your pin you will get into recovery mode. In there you press English and it would also be a good moment to wipe cache.
    - Choose "Wipe data and cache"
    - Choose "Wipe cache" (IMPORTANT - MAKE SURE YOU DON'T TAP ERASE EVERYTHING).
After that press reboot and the phone will restart.

Didn't you set any lockscreen password? Were you using None as screen lock?

I didn't get it. Setting a password directly took you to recovery?

I have a similar issue. I tried to wipe the data cache. My OP5 asked for a password to get into Recovery mode, but will not accept my Lockscreen password.
