I am a long term user of oneplus but I will surely think of buying again. I have to end up paying 17k again for screen damage .

Hi there, can you elaborate what do you mean by again paying 17k and also care to elaborate what kind of service deficiency you found in servify?

Why don't you get in touch with Servify directly as they respond very quickly on their social media platforms?

November 2019 purchased a 1 year extended warranty for a phone.
Supposed to cover electrical malfunctions and extend manufacturers warranty.
Phone started smoking while being charged by the manufacturers charger Mar 26, 2021.
Reported issue to Servify for warranty coverage. This company has tried to twist every line in their contract not to pay out a warranty claim, they quoted:
(Fortuitous events; including, but not limited to : environmental conditions, exposure to weather conditions or perils of nature; collapse, explosion or collision of or with another object; fire, any kind of precipitation, lightning, dirt/sand, smoke, nuclear radiation, radioactive contamination, riot, war or hostile action are not covered')
So the phone starting to smoke inside a vehicle, not exposed to any elements being charged by a OEM charger is a Fortuitous event apparently. This company is a scam!

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Do all warranty claims go through servify as a phone starting to smoke up during charging is surely a hardware defect. Do you have any other consumer rights you can use to claim?

Sometimes users confuse the coverage of the warranty extension (they basically cover manufacturing defects for a longer time) with the insurance coverage (basically accidents)

Exactly, and his discription is about a charger malfunction it seems, but the post is about a screen replacement. I'm confused here tbh.

Actually from the description, it seems that the malfunction of the charger or the charging circuit was responsible for the breakage of the screen, in this case I believe that the warranty (or the extension of the warranty) should cover the repair, it should demonstrate this circumstance and carefully read the terms of the warranty extension (small print).

The only issue with what you have said here is the charger itself will be out of warranty now.
We also do not know what the condition of the charger, the cable, or indeed even the power supply was 🤔.

@jr303 Servify is the insurance partner for OnePlus, but it is separate (3rd party) entity. The only thing Moderators can do in this instance is escalate to OnePlus CS and ask them to revert to Servify to provide a detailed reasoning behind why they are refusing the extended warranty repair. If you want to PM me your Servify claim reference, I will escalate to CS.

I don't think the two incidents are related, just a second posted with issues with Servify. OP is Sampada , charger issue is someone else.

When did you change your forum name??

Yes. That's why I tagged the user who posted about the charger and phone smoking issue. The state in their post about Servify.

Think I've always had this one since 2014... Maybe not though. Went missing for a while whilst defecting to other OEMs but back with 9 Pro
