My 11 year old wants a gaming PC.

He already has saved up €100,- :D

And dad will add some to that. But not too much really... So I'm looking for advice for the best cheapass bang per the buck PC, I have build many PC's in my day, so yes, building one from scratch is an option. Just can't be arsed to do all the research ATM.

Help me out for a parts list guys!

Yeah...but I don't use my home PC for work at all. Just a few minutes of CS : GO sometime and a bit of browsing.

So....I wouldn't exactly be putting the Ryzen build to much use at home either.

Maybe just get a cheap FX 8370 for now....and a new build later when X370 boards are actually in stock :p

    BTW.....
Here's some winter time testing on the crappy stock cooler :p FX.JPG

Yup.....just a block of aluminum with some fins...no heatpipes and stuff :p

Looking to get an AIO with a 240 rad soon.......hoping to hit 5GHz which seems quite possible.

I prioritize silence over anything so I actually went with an air cooler, which surprisingly is quieter than an AIO. Originally went with the massive Thermalright HR-02 only to find that I was 2 mm short on my S340. With the HR-02 I would probably be able to get away with passive cooling.

I have my headphones on 99% of the time.....that and anything else will be quieter than the one I have now :p

    Probably....most of the times.

Buying parts online ? which site ?

Wait for AMD to launch their Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 chips ? Q2 launch

Assuming this is his own 'First PC' ,
    Maybe look at....
    CPU : Skylake i3
    MoBo : H110 Chipset
    GPU : 1050Ti
    RAM : 8GB
    SSD : 128GB / 256GB
and a decent PSU to get things going.

Edit : Add Win 10 to that as well.

Check on azerty.nl for the components (or alternate.be) I would spend some time on it if you remind me in the weekend (kinda swamped with work atm).

I need a basic gaming system that's easy to upgrade.
