I've added a poll and a link to this thread for people on the app.

I'd simplify the question to "Do you want OnePlus to keep this feature?"

Wholeheartedly agree. Most file managers are garbage. The only one I use (and only on low storage devices) is SD Maid. Do not want Tencent's code incorporated into the OS, thanks. It's not necessary and it's dangerous in terms of privacy.

The inability to turn off Tencent's statistic collection separately is poor, too.

Yes, sorry. That came out the wrong way. It is just that what OnePlus is offering (for OxygenOS at least) is less tailored to the Chinese market than what let's say Huawei and Xiaomi has. That does not make one better than the other, but just that costumers of OnePlus outside of China will have different expectations.

It would really be the same if OnePlus decided to bundle Facebook or make some other app/service integration that some may or may not concsidered "bad" by the community.

I don't own a 6 series phone, so this doesn't affect me in the slightest. This is a questionable addition though, and should be completely optional, not mandatory for those users, and probably should not even be there in the first place. However, this is just a beta feature, and I believe OnePlus may remove this in later updates, seeing how many users disliked this "feature".

Some fishy company it was. I think it was CM, but don't nail me down on that

Yeah it was CM, the collaboration ended maybe because they did ad fraud and openly admitted to selling data, this is what's concerning.

They should ditch any connection to/with Tencent,
As it stays I will jump to custom Roms after being on open bèta's since releasing op3 and now on my op6.
If it stays on oncoming devices..
Next won't be a oneplus for sure!!!

Totally not on board with integrating unnecessary features that do nothing to compliment the user experience. The main reason I love OxygenOS is that it DOESN'T do this. Doing it through Tencent is a huge issue, too, but I'm more upset that they're adding things nobody wants. That's the very definition of bloatware.

Well the fact they're associating with Tencent to begin with could be alarming for most.

Bit then you remember any Chinese company is basically forced into bed with China government spying anyway so who really cares anymore?

UGH absolutely a dealbreaker OnePlus, consider this step a quick shortcut to ruining all of the goodwill you've built over the last few years from your loyal fans. We care about data privacy, and don't want bloatware. I've got a ticket to the OP7 event in NY, and will ABSOLUTELY be expressing my concern over this to the OP team present there.
