Phone app by Google only in hidden space Jan 10, 2022 via OnePlus 9

    Hi
    While using oxygen OS 11, I had hidden the phone app (dialer by Google) in the hidden space. I had made a shortcut of the same in the home screen to use it daily. Now when I updated to oxygen OS 12, the hidden apps shortcut is gone. I tried to unhide the app by going to Settings - Privacy - hide apps, but this app is not being shown in the list, where I can toggle them on and off. I can see the app in the hidden space when I enter my #accesscode#, but I need to unhide that.
    Tried uninstalling, but not getting uninstalled fully
    Any suggestions?

    Now to enter the access code I am opening the app via playstore and then dialling the accesscode

    I can try one thing on my other phone. Will try to figure out what part to wipe to reset hidden apps. I think doing that might be your only chance.
    Edit: the things I could do was limited. The components behind this can't be reset by a simple data wipe. said:

    Try one thing. Add a widget on home screen for "OnePlus Scout" and try searching for "Phone" in that. That should open Dialer for you.
    Alternatively, you can connect your phone to a pc, then run the ADB command to uninstall google Dialer from your phone ( pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.dialer )
    This command will delete your google Dialer from phone. Then go to the play Store and download the Google Dialer again and don't hide it this time.

    Worked out for me.. thanks!
    Never done this before so it's pretty new to me..
    Wasn't expecting an update to give me these kinds of problems though. Kind of hate the new look and feel sluggish after the c.44 update.
