    prestonrodz , Mar 17, 2019 :
A month ago my friend met with an accident. His OnePlus 3 fell somewhere around the area but someone picked it up (stole it) and powerd it off and thus was never found since then. The cops didn't help him either.

    Suggestion:
    ******
How about OnePlus implements a feature which requires a pin or finger print to power off the device?
    ******

This will definitely make the theft difficult.

Write down your feedback below so I can then make this idea a bit stronger and then submit it in the feedback section I suppose.

Still it will make the theft difficult as they firstly need a pin to remove the sim. who roams around with a pin in their pockets.

If someone physically has your phone it's gone, no matter what precautions pin protection fingerprint etc it's circumventable.

    Phone thieves?

Another option, is to carry one of those foil lined freezer bags, just lob the phone in and it's isolated.

Or just force restart it with volume down and power button. There are so many ways to shutoff phone even if it requires pin.

This will never be implemented, for many reasons.

Just one example. You can hold the power button down to force a hard-reboot. Requiring a password/pin won't work if the OS is frozen, you'll not be able to enter it intimes you need to force it to reboot the OS.
