Consistency is a good thing and should be promoted.

Still I do not think they took the easy way out since they have to redesign so many aspects of the OS.

Care to share your favorite PMChallenge proposal?

that is true. but the kind of changes proposed are at best cosmetic in nature. they don't enhance the user experience of OOS vis-a-vis stock Android or other implementations.

the whole contest, the way it was proposed, was meant to add to OOS "features" to make for a better user experience. but in hindsight, it is more like they are 'using" this community to come up with ideas free of cost, and create a positive impression in the minds that the company is actively involving it's members.

in the long term, such sneaky strategies don't go down well with the market. they will lose respect quite quickly.

as with real features that would have enhanced user experience, there were plenty of suggestions like screen recording, privacy guard (if you really care about your users' need for privacy), double tap to top, etc that could have been considered.

they ended up choosing a cosmetic change as a "feature", which clarifies the intent of the whole campaign inadvertently.

If you feel that the PMChallenge was part of a sneaky strategy you can have your say on my new thread.

    https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/the-pmchallenge-peoples-winner-is.1009100

By discussing what we would have done differently we can help display the diversity of opinions. Since I know that you are a very strong ipinionated member I guess you would like the opportunity to share your ideas on a thread focused in discussing what we would have done differently ourselves.

all that would be useful if the company truly listens and appreciates it's community.

I don't have a problem with them not making business decisions based on community opinions. that is perfectly fine. but I have a problem with the deception they use when doing campaigns such as this one.

my respect for them has certainly gone down.

Do you find anything positive out of PMChallenge???

They gave us the opportunity to help shape OOS, perhaps you would have done it diffrently but why speak of deception and lack of appreciation.

In the end a ton of ideas was put forward and we found more reasons to be active than passive. isn't that a good thing?

    Reworked OxygenOS Experience

You are really going to hammer them for choosing a proposal that is not a "feature" strictly speaking. Yet it is going to improve OOS and why should we not celebrate just that.

I find @Its.Leandroo proposal to be more than worthy of winning the PMChallenge.

Yet you did not answer my question so please don't be deceptive and answer my question.

Do you find anything positive out of PMChallenge?
