    Dear OnePlus

I love our oneplus community and oneplus technology. One main feature i feel missing in Our Oneplus is Infrared Blaster remote control. OnePlus device as remote control for the Air conditioners and TV.
When paired with the right app, an IR blaster is an incredible feature to have on a smartphone since it allows you to easily control electronic appliances around you. Essentially, person can control any home appliance that features a remote straight from the smartphone.

    Who are the users?
I believe this feature can be used by every user who operates AC or TV at their respective homes. This can also be used by the employees of any office where any employee wants to adjust the temperature of the AC on his/her head without calling facility team.

    What is the proposed function?
With the help of a remote control in ones Oneplus phone, the person can adjust the room temperature with his/her phone itself provided the phone and the device to be controlled should be connected with the same Wifi network. There should be a list of all the companies of AC providers and TV through which user can connect the phone to start using it as remote control.

    What is the user value?

People love controlling AC or TV with their own phone without searching for the provided single remote control.

If there are existing comparable functions in the smartphone industry, how is your proposed feature superior?

Yes, this feature is provided by one another company as per my knowledge. However if onePlus will provide the same feature, I am sure it is gonna provide us the feature better than other ones in the market. Also onePlus users needs this feature which is also helpful for increasing Oneplus user base.

Include directions and details via diagram sketches. Draw each screen and show the flow from screen to screen.

Step 1: Person should Open the Remote app on device featuring an IR blaster. Do make sure that the device should be connected to the internet during the setup process since the app will download the database of compatible apps as you move forward.

Step 2: Person should be able to Tap the Add remote option and select the category of the device that he/she would like to add.
Step 3: Once he/she has selected the appropriate category, he/she should be able to select the manufacturer and finally the model of the device.

    Step 4:
The person should then be prompted to point the phone towards the device (AC for example) and press the on-screen button. He should Keep the button pressed until your device responds as the app will automatically cycle through the various IR codes. As a form of feedback, the phone should vibrate slightly when it sends a command over the IR blaster. Once the device in question responds, make sure to leave the on-screen button.
Step 5: Prompt ‘Does the device respond’ question. User should press Yes if the device respond. If there is no response the person should then again have to point his/her phone towards the device and press an on-screen button. Release the button once the device responds. Confirm his/her selection by pressing Yes again.

    Step 6:
Finally, person should be able to now enter a name for the device and add a shortcut to quickly control it from his/her home screen. Depending on the remote of the device that he has added, all the options to control it should be displayed on-screen. If not, additional functions should be hidden under the ‘More functions’ option, though, the most common ones should already be available on-screen.

This would require a hardware revision, though, which would completely leave out the current line of phones.
