    Problem - A Short Story

Joe is an average young man, who goes to work (or School or anything) at 8 o'clock in the morning. Just like you, he often tends to not sleep on time, and as a result, he has a hard time waking up in the morning. So he uses the alarm app on his OnePlus device. But the alarm app is so CRUEL, that it ruins his peaceful morning which leads to a ruined day. So many talented engineers in this world, why doesn't anyone solve this simple problem? Joe wishes OnePlus could magically solve this painful problem.

    And then there's OnePlus.

Solution - Cue "OnePlus Smart Alarms"

The alarm app has never really evolved ever since the beginning of smartphones. It definitely works but its so harsh on the ears and is so outdated in today's world where everything is becoming more natural and human like.
OnePlus Smart Alarms app solves this problem by using a sequence of alarms to wake up the user with utmost sensitivity and love. Start off with a beautiful melody to give peaceful morning vibes, and gradually increase the intensity of the alarms until a critical point - only at this point use the traditional hard alarm. Will give more implementation details later on.

Bonus Tip: Over time the app could learn the user's sleep patterns and optimise the alarm accordingly.

    Formal QnA

    Who are the users?
Everyday Joe(s) who have a hard time with their sleep and use the alarm app on their smartphone. Think students, working professionals etc.

    What is the proposed function?
Use a sequence of alarms while gradually increasing the intensity, i.e every alarm is more intense than the previous one leading into a final alarm which the user MUST wake up to stop.

    What is the user value?
Ease into the morning with these alarms, gives a healthy start to the long day ahead, along with bringing peace of mind.

If there are existing comparable functions in the smartphone industry, how is your proposed feature superior?
I haven't seen any before. Some third party apps try to achieve this sort of functionality, but none with any satisfactory results. This idea may evolve the alarm standards and may be picked up by other smartphone makers too.

Explain the logic behind this product and how you want it to be implemented:

    op1.jpg

    It's quite self explanatory.

STEP1: Play a simple morning melody with low volume to bring in the peaceful morning vibes at say,
    7:00 AM.

STEP2: Wait until the melody finishes/ User snoozes / Wakes up.

    STEP3:
If the user didn't take any action, play the next alarm in the sequence.
    or
If he snoozed the alarm, play the same thing again in a higher volume.
    or
If he has woken up by taking action to stop the alarm sequence, STOP.

    STEP4:
Gradually increase the intensity of the alarms until 7:30 AM and finally play the loudest alarm which can not be snoozed further and won't stop ringing until user wakes up and takes action.

This is an idea i had while having such problems, often during exams. It is open for anyone to implement. If you know an existing solution to this problem, kindly share it down below.
    Thank you.

interesting but unlikely to be implemented. Since you can already set slowly increasing volume on alarm and plus there's a snooze button.
