    Who are the users?

Everyone who finds it annoying getting same update message from different app notifications. I’m sure everyone. Like we get the e-commerce purchage notification message from app, SMS and E-mail.

    What is the proposed function?

Proposed function is to collect the same notifications and group them into one. It will be less annoying for the user. Notification tray will show a single message with same details and rest of the notifications will stack under it. Suppose a user places an order on Amazon. S/he will get multiple notifications about the purchase. On our notification tray, we can show a popup of a single notification and rest notifications will come muted, without annoying users with constant buzzing.
This can be achieved by :-
If we could create a custom notification message, we can design it in our style with OS’ flavour. It can show the app’s icon on one side, the message in the rest body. And tiny icons in bottom to show which all services have sent this message. This can be seen in the below image.

This feature can be used with app notifications from e-Commerce apps(like Amazon, Flipkart, etc.), Food delivery apps(Zomato, Swiggy, etc.), or banking apps(PayPal, PayTm, GooglePay, etc).
The basic challenge here will be to read notification message on screen and matching it with other notifications.

The SMS/MAIL/APP NOTIFICATIONS won't be lost. It will go to it's respective places. And when the user clicks on the stacked notification, s/he will goto the first app/service through which the notification came. Suppose, when you have transacted from a PayementApp and you have received an SMS first then an app notification. So if you click on the stacked notification, you will be redirected to the messaging app where you will read the whole message.

    What is the user value?
Users often find it irritating receiving same notifications from different services. However important they be, any information repeating leads to making users annoyed. Such situations can be avoided tactfully by creating a divergent notification style.

If there are existing comparable functions in the smartphone industry, how is your proposed feature superior?

As far as I know, there’s no such functionality. Though users can avoid such things by muting notifications. But that again leads to missing other important notifications. Which the above mentioned proposal won’t. The proposed message won’t even miss important updates like OTPs too.
