    Who are the users?

People who want to have the choice between performance vs battery life, those who prefer control of the situation by being free to choose what is best for them in any given situation in regard of the performance of their phone.

    What is the proposed function?

The function I’m proposing is to use the existing alert slider to control the various aspects of the phone, like cpu clock, brightness, theme and use of background data in the phone based on the needs of the user, basically having three modes: Battery saver, Normal and Maximum Performance.

    What is the user value?

Let’s say that the user is with low battery life or is going to be on a situation where charging is not an easy option, he now can use the alert slider to select “Battery saving mode”, here the cpu clock is going to be limited to 1.7 Ghz on all cores, the brightness will be lowered to a previous specified value, the theme will be set on all black to save even more battery and the background data will be only available on the apps previously selected. Maximum performance Is used when the user needs the full potential of the phone at his disposal, like when playing games or running benchmark. This setting sets the limit of the clock speed at 2.8Ghz on first 4 cores and 1.7GHz on the rest, all the above functions are deactivated (less brightness, black theme and background data limitation). The mode in between, Normal mode, is the middle point between those two other modes, it is the perfect balance between battery life and performance. It sets the maximum clock speed to 2.2 Ghz on the first four cores and 1.5 Ghz on the last four, and the rest of the functions can be selected manually, whether the user want them activated or not.

If there are existing comparable functions in the smartphone industry, how is your proposed feature superior?

I know that there are plenty of similar features in the market, but as far as I know they do not affect the clock of the cpu, which could be a big battery sucker in certain situations. Also, the slider is way more convenient rather than searching trough a lot of settings just to change the Performance or battery options on the phone. The proposed function has the advantage of being convenient, fast and easy to select and change between different states.
