When I'm walking with my phone in my pocket, it keeps turning the screen on and generating fake clicks (music taco change, pause, camera opening).
Is Pocket mode implemented or to be implemented?

I have the same problem. It happens so often that I have to turn double tap to wake off. I hope there will be a fix soon because I really like this feature.

I had the same it seems. After 45 min walk with OP7 pro in my back jeans pocket it had factory wiped itself. I removed the phone from pocket and I saw the blue Android setup page asking me the language to select. So terrible. I had exactly the same 1 year ago with me OP6T. I solved this by turning on pocket mode. But pocket mode is gone, unacceptable. If this happens again then I return the OP7 Pro. When do we get pocket mode back and if not, what can I do to prevent this happens again?

No pocket mode possibility on OnePlus 7 Pro. There isn't a proximity sensor.

It was turned off on my phone. Do you suggest to turn it on, so the phone is always unlocked while walking?

So how come the screen goes off when you place the phone on your ear while on call?

It uses the ambient light sensor. I less optimal solution

In a way, they probably could. But it wouldn't be very ideal due to the fact that pocket mode would randomly kick on when shifting into low light. I'm hoping they're working on it, maybe a combination of the gyroscope and ambient light sensor, but who knows.

That's used exclusively for calls as far as I'm aware. If this were used for pocket mode, and you wanted to use your phone in a very dark room, you wouldn't be able to because pocket mode would be active. The ambient light sensor would sense no light and you'd be unable to use your phone.

Yep. In theory, it could be used with the gyroscope in a limited fashion. For example, when most people put their phone in their pocket, they put the phone in upside down. So the gyroscope detecting a 180 degree inversion along with the ambient light sensor detecting darkness could work, but it wouldn't be perfect.

I'm saying that presently, when a call is on the screen and the ambient light sensor senses no light, it deactivates the screen.

If we were to introduce this feature not just when a call is active and on the screen, pocket mode (or whatever they'd call it) would be activated in dark rooms, causing you to be unable to use your phone.

No, because there's not enough of a change in the light level. In fact, I'd be worried about the screen staying on when pressed to your face if you answer in the dark.

It's possible but I feel like there are too many variables. What if the person is sitting down? It won't be facing down like that, so that situation would no longer apply. And if you want to present the option of adding the 90 degree turn, what if I want to use my phone in landscape in a dark room?

Yeah I get it. Thanks fellas. But if they could find a way to bring back Pocket mode or something similar, that would be so great and helpful and would keep OnePlus at the top for me as always!
