Bw434 , via OnePlus 8T , Oct 22, 2020 : For some reason the OnePlus 8T is having a hard time registering that I'm trying to unlock my phone and it always shows me pocket mode screen when it's obviously not in my pocket. It's hindering me from unlocking my phone and picking up calls. Is there any way of recalibrating this? When I had the OnePlus 6, it wasn't nearly as bad as this.
psygarden , via OnePlus 8T Aquamarine Green , Oct 22, 2020 : Have you applied any after market screen protector? This seems to be an issue relating to proximity sensor. Download the OnePlus Care app and select Diagnose this device. Run a Custom diagnosis of proximity sensor and check the results.

Randyvr , Nov 22, 2020 : I installed an app testing the sensor, and I noticed pressing the screen very hard with my finger just below the sensor (middle of the screen just below the top bar) activates the proximity sensor. Letting it go disables it again. The problem now appears physical to me, and therefore I send in a repair request. I think the sensor is not placed entirely stable.
Renderer10 , Nov 24, 2020 : Same problem here. I have no screen protector on my 8T, and pocket mode is constantly enabled while the phone is just sitting on my desk. I got this phone in the U.S. right when it launched, and I don't recall having this problem until after the first OS update. Really hoping this is a software issue that's addressed. @Randyvr - I tried pressing hard on my screen in various places but that doesn't help on my device.

CarmineCrown , via OnePlus 8T , Nov 25, 2020 : I had a similar problem... Got fed up and just disabled it in the settings, anywho the phone doesnt get triggered from the lockscreen in my experience so I'll just leave it disabled
suuzie92 , Dec 2, 2020 : I have got the same problem, can't pick up my calls, or when people call me i cant get my screen to turn on to put it on speaker... Also the pocket modus when I have it right in front of me is turned on quite regularly very annoying
