    Just for help
    I was having the same issue .. I have kb2000 with india variant OS Stock.
    I flashed the Global version and wipe the cache only from recovery mode ..

    Now it is fixed and works perfectly

    I have the kb2003 version, so i think it's the global version.
    I did a wipe cache and that didn't solve the problem ..

    When i wiped the cache i thought it was solved for the first day, then the problem showed up again, i sent 2 emails to oneplus and today i called them,
    I think that what we have to do, otherwise i dont' want the phone anymore they refund me and they take this piece of ****

    Is this problem solved !?!? Pocket mode is driving me insane!!!! Also there is a porblem that after i finish a call and want to cut the screen wont come on. For sure this is a proximity sensor issue !!! My phone is only 3 weeks old and i am so sorry for changing my oneplus6

    I'm going to post here as well as my 8T has this issue too. Mostly when I take it out of my pocket then the pocket mode remains enabled... As everyone else here as said, it's very annoying and I hope OP will release an update soon to resolve this.

    got two 8T for me and my wife. my phone is ok, but her has pocket mode problem! in most cases, she faced it via whatsapp calls and cant unlock the screen during the call. only black screen until call is over.
    it can unlock when you wipe with cloth from one top corner to another - for a second screen will appears, then goes black again.

    its very pissed us off..

    I can appreciate the problem with pocket mode staying activated when it shouldn't...but I returned my Samsung S20 FE because "pocket mode" didn't work at all! Every time I pulled the phone out of my pocket the screen was ON and multiple random taps were registered everywhere...What a MESS! SO, for me, I would rather have the screen stay off a little longer than for it to never stay off when in your pocket. Hopefully they will get it sorted out! By the way...my 8T has only even showed the pocket mode error a few short times.

    Had a case that used to trigger this. May be the lip was too high on the sides? No idea. Now I use the one that came with the phone and no issues

    Surely, they are not reading this forums, as I don't see any response from OnePlus officials yet.

    If you cover the top of phone where indicator is it sets that alert on . Plus it's a third-party app. Call p provider or one plus tech support. They do help. When everything fails
