There is a glitch or sensor fault in my new device OnePlus 8t. And this is getting frequent every time I switch on my phone. I am not able to perform any of the activity due to this on my phone.

I am having the same issue. There's nothing blocking the top portion of the phone and it's just stuck in Pocket Mode. This morning I had to restart the phone to get it out of pocket mode.

I'm having the same problem it's frustrating when you are on a call and you can't switch the phone on to cut the call.

It's triggered every time even when the phone isn't in the pocket.

Is anyone having this issue too.

Guys do a wipe cache, looks like it helps and resolves the problem, not sure yet if it's totally functioning but looks like much better
edit : not effective at all, still suffering from the issue.. i hate this phone

Ok guys this: make sure that you are in a space with very good lighting, bright sunlight for example. And look really really close to the edge of the glass on you screen, use a magnifying glass if necessary. Now push the screen in with your finger while remaining super focused at the edge of the glass. Does the glass ever so slightly sink in and out of the phone frame ? If yes, this is the reason for the false pocket mode alert. This can happen due to a hard drop, or bend (if you accidentally sit on your phone for example)

I faced this on my OP6 but a friend has it also on OP6T so I guess it is something that may happen in a variety of OP devices.

I would advice contacting support for a repair. I personally like to experiment and open/disassemble my phones, change batteries by myself etc and have the necessary tools to do so as a hobby. So I gently lifted the top right corner of the screen and put some super glue under the glass, then kept it firmly pressed for a couple of hours. The glass does not move at all and is firmly into place so the problem got away. I would however discourage you from doing this unless you absolutely know what you are doing, and are prepared to say goodbye forever to your warranty.

This issue is faced even if you turn off the pocket mode. Hence it is sure that this is a software bug

Ok if you are sure it's software related you can skip my recommendation. Otherwise, since it won't take more than a minute, why not check it out anyway. It won't hurt.

I came here to add that I'm having the same issue. The phone is still under original screen protector. I often get this message. I'm hoping this will be a quick ota fix.
the phone has never fallen or anything like that. it's been in good care.

Also having the same issue with my 8t. Very frequent. It even happened five times in a row yesterday while the phone was on my cars phone holder. Nothing in front of the phone. And by the way I removed the screen protector when I got the phone.
