    There is malware name file downloader.....delete this and you'll be out of this problem. Try downloading malwabyte to solve this issue. same thing happened to me and now it's gone after deleting this malware name file downloader.

    same same issue! sometimes listening to songs with locked screen and stupid videos start to pop up and play into it.. it drives me mad! and i helpless with solution.. i tried all the stuff you said too. even messaged OnePlus online support and nothing helped... i'm pretty sure it's google ads and i'm actually terrified it's not possible to turn off cause they say this (pic)
    ..some forum say to go to ads on google account and simply turn it off but there is nothing like that on oneplus, only turn off ads personalization...

    Also got some popup ads from a legit app on PlayStore informs in bold it contains ads.
    But annoyingly, it was launching a popup from a background service and wouldn't allow me to guess the name of the app (touching anything incl. bringing recent menu would make the ad disappear)

    Neat idea with NoRoot. I wish I had found this thread earlier but I did something using android tools.
    One particularly interesting information is the list of windows in top down Z order: the first foreground app being listed as first.
    So, as soon as the popup is showing, connect USB and use adb shell dumpsys:
    Code:
    $ adb shell dumpsys window

    [...]
    WINDOW MANAGER DISPLAY CONTENTS (dumpsys window displays)
      Display: mDisplayId=0
      init=1080x2160 420dpi cur=1080x2160 app=1080x2160 rng=1080x1017-2160x2097
      deferred=false mLayoutNeeded=false mTouchExcludeRegion=SkRegion((0,0,1080,2160))

      mLayoutSeq=45416

      Application tokens in top down Z order:
      mStackId=477
      mDeferRemoval=false
      mBounds=[0,0][1080,2160]
      taskId=10749
      mBounds=[0,0][1080,2160]
      mdr=false
      appTokens=[AppWindowToken{5a46a9d token=Token{5a8d574 ActivityRecord{cd95947 u0 com.quangdz.voice.recorderpro/com.google.android.gms.ads.AdActivity t10749}}}, AppWindowToken{dd6f496 token=Token{931d7b1 ActivityRecord{b0a3a58 u0 com.quangdz.voice.recorderpro/com.google.android.gms.ads.AdActivity t10749}}}]
    [...]

    On Mac and Linux, you can directly get the app and activity name with some sed magic :cool:

    Code:
    $ adb shell dumpsys window | sed -ne '/down Z order:/,/appTokens/{/appToken/{s_.*\s\(.*/.*\)\s.*_\1_p}}
    com.quangdz.voice.recorderpro/com.google.android.gms.ads.AdActivity

    There are a number of ways of handling this. Lots of connection monitors. The benefit of NoRoot is that you can deny the connection to the ad server and it tells you immediately which app did it.

    I started to have the same problem on OnePlus6. I uninstalled File Manager, File Downloader I installed Malwarebytes and I still see Fullsreen popping add. I remember that I allowed some ads during browsing on Google.

    I'm having the same problem. I tried all the steps above. (Thank you By The Way) but no luck. I can't find the app that is doing it or see any unusual apps. It pops up whenever it wants regardless of what app I'm in. I tried Malwarebytes, AVG and Ccleaner but no luck

    No antivirus will trig for some apps.
    As I said above, the ad I had was shown from an application delivered from Google Play (and the description does show it contains ad).

    Not sure why Google doesn't remove apps showing such agressive ads.
