I updated my oneplus 7 into OxygenOS 11.0.0.2 ... After few days recently I faced power button problem...when I press and hold is for few seconds it pops up google assistant which is fine but then when I press it longer to restart my phone the option is not showing... Now when I wanted to restart my phone I have go to the settings and restart it manually...

What is happening now is expected behaviour. I'm not aware of short press and long press option for the power menu on OOS.

So if you want power menu, you will have to change your setting.

In any case, if you press and hold the power button long enough, it should restart the device.

I already pressed long enough about 30 to 40 seconds but it's not working...when I press the power button + volume up then it worked

That's too long. 10 seconds should be enough to force a restart.

Are you using some case with hard buttons? Can you remove your case and try?

I'm saying the phone will simply restart if you press and hold the power button for 10 seconds or so. You won't get the Power Menu.

Try enabling the power menu and restart your phone. Then change it back to Google Assistant if you want. See if that helps.

Not on my 7t pro it doesn't. I can press it as long as i want, only the assistant will be there listening to what i want to say.
If it's set to assistant it's power key and volume up to get the power menu to turn the phone off

That's a strange implementation then. Force restart by holding down the power button is something that becomes necessary when the phone becomes unresponsive.

Yeah, i agree. And overcomplicating things too if you want to use the power key for the assistant. It's the same on the 8 pro too, both are on beta though. It's different on the 8t?

You still can force restart by long pressing Power and Volume Up keys (or Volume Down, if you want to access Recovery).

I don't use the Google Assistant feature, so haven't tried it yet. But it should be the same as with the rest of the 8 series.
