    Hi Guys

Just wanted to suggest to lay a security or some type of permission when someone tries to switch off or restarts your phone. Let me elaborate, like an unknown person gets my phone and wants to steal or play a prank. Just before the phone disappears when they switch off I wish if I could have a passcode or a fingerprint or a facial recognition to use the power button or a restart features.

This will help the user not to lose their phone and also help them to get it back at the earliest. My personal experience as I lost my phone and had least hope to get it back, with the find my phone option on I didn't serve my purpose. Once the phone is reset or hard reset everything is vanished from the find my phone app.

These phones ain't cheap as I'm a user of 7Tpro mclaren edition it's more than a half a lakh device and the security of the device to the owner should be at its best. like a pet dog to its owner.

I hope this would be consider as there are more than 10 to 15 thousands phones getting lost or stolen every day.

    Thanks

I don't want to sound rude, but this... won't do sh*t.

It won't prevent anyone from shutting the phone down, because every phone can be forced to be shut down if the power button is held long enough.

There may... But this is not the one, sadly.

I've only lost my phone once, and I couldn't find it with Google Find my Device either, but I think that's the issue with Android 10, considering it's setting is only "Use Location Data when app is in use", which... well, is dumb, considering you would need that app to be running constantly in the foreground.

I'm sadly no security expert, nor any expert in terms of android, but I don't think OnePlus would consider any ideas in this term, as it's not high priority for them.

They removed your SIM with a pin or paper clip within 5 seconds.... you're out of range of the nearest trusted WiFi....then what ?
GPS ? That can be blocked with a simple forced restart and booting to recovery or fastboot temporarily.

Why do you even think there's an option to save your phone if it's physically out of your hands ?
