Thanks for the post, I started adopting some of the apps you mentioned. I reckon this is more prevalent in the United States, rather than in Europe. What internet browser do you use on your desktop? I have been using chrome for the longest time, but maybe it's time for a change..

I use four browsers on my desktop: Brave, Firefox (with some privacy add-ons), chromium (with some privacy add-ons), and Tor.

Is there a way to "compartmentalize" apps, like DOCKER on windows, or through the use of Virtualization that has minimum maintanence? I remember back in Uni we worked on Xen ARM for mobile devices, I am just wondering if it amounted to anything that we can use today easily that would allow me to use my business related software that require X permissions and access with my work and with my "play", instead of me using two phones for work and ""play""... I suppose I could email some old friends from class see what they are up too if they continued along the project or branched it into some actual real world platforms... I know this has a host of concerns a host of possible issues if I recall correctly especially with access to things like the network cards, camera etc... as essentially two seperate entities could be making requests to a single device that they do not know is shared, even if one is perhaps even a "fake"... but I am just wondering.

    Hi all,

I’ve been following most of the privacy step recommended by cmitchellshaw.
I don’t know if it is the good place to post this and I don’t even know if someone will be able to help me out.
    Here is my issue :
I open a ProtonMail account and everything was working super fine until someday...
I don’t know why but I stopped received Notification from ProtonMail while I was receiving a new email ?!
I haven’t changed nothing at all in my notification settings ?!
I contacted Proton Support and all they say it to set up my notification properly that has been done in the way they say. Nothing have changed, still no notification?!
So I decided to reset my all phone (oneplus3T) back to factory set up and set up everything again. Still no notification.
    Any Idea ?
I love this email server and I would be sad to leave it cause I don’t want to be part of the google stuff anymore.
If someone can help, Much appreciate.

whitelist the app from battery optimisation. in other words, choose do not optimise option.

    New Update !

I have installed the ProtonMail App on my wife’s cellphone.
Log on with my account. Sent a email test and you know what it is getting notification.
So the problem is not your App, my account but my phone and the way Google Services play works... any clues ?

    delete app data
    uninstall app

reboot to recovery and wipe cache:

    1. Power off
    2. ‎Power + Volume down button - hold this combination till device starts
    3. ‎English (unless you know one of the other languages)
    4. ‎Wipe data and cache
    5. ‎Wipe cache (don't choose the other options)
    6. ‎reboot

    reinstall app

remember to "do not optimise" the app
    also disable aggressive optimisation
