It's probably an issue with the app. What you can try for the timebeing is install an old version from apkmirror and wait for the next update, which would hopefully be more stable.

This is the issue I faced for 2 days.
    My solution was:
    1. Uninstall Instagram completely.
    2. Clear playstore cache
    3. Login to playstore via a different Gmail account
    4. Install instagram
Leaving Beta program doesn't help. This bug has affected all OnePlus OxygenOS from OOS10 to OOS11. Also after the steps, do not update the app for this point of time. You can update once the issue is fixed.

Have you tried clearing the app cache?

And did you try the old method that worked?

If you are on beta version of the instagram switch back to stable version,
Uninstall and reinstalling the app fixed this issue for many people furthermore as said Instagram always want to work only on iOS, they are having problems with Android from the very beginning.
