I know there is some odd stuff with messages on the T. You can't swap out the default app. It will say it's swapped, but it will keep using the original app.

I have the same issue. Group messaging works to send out which actually sends as individual messages. Replies come in as individual messages from groups. It's definitely the built in OnePlus 3T messages app. I used Google Messenger & Textra and it's not an issue. I'm sure OxygenOS will update to be on par with the other messaging apps in due time.

Anyone have issues with media messages while on voice over wifi and crap or no cell signal? My wife sent me a media message this morning at work and it failed. I wasn't able to retrieve it when I got lte once I got off. I'm on t-mobile and using textra.

on previous phones, I've had plenty of trouble getting MMS when using the official Tmo Wifi calling.. often have to turn off wifi to get the message to download... so I wouldn't be surprised to see similar here.

TMo has always seemed to have some MMS issues. If I wasn't such a cheap, er I mean frugal, person, I'd switch to another carrier.

I did download Textra and will try using that (looks nice).

Anyone have issues with selecting a picture to send from gallery in messages? The icon is there but not highlighted like the rest of the options?

I can't help solve your dilemma as I'm stuck with the same group message faults. I'm on AT&T though...

I had the same issue (t mobile). and while i was hoping to keep texting on the OP3T messaging app ( i loved having the black background), group messaging is more important to me. so i started using hangouts and group messaging works just fine. i dont think theres a fix. i suggest you just switch if its that important to u. sorry couldnt be of more help

Textra gives the dark theme. Also let's you choose bubble color and other stuff.

Same problem with the OP3T. Am on OxygenOS 3.5.3 and Android 6.0.1 with T-Mobile US. Group threads created in the default messaging app are sent to friends as individuals SMS. Downloaded Textra and can now send group messages. It's a workaround for now.

I also have the 3T and on Tmobile and can't do group messages. In my past versions of OnePlus there was that setting to turn group msgs on/off but I am not seeing it now on this one.

I flashed OxygenOS 3.5.3 with TWRP( OTA zip) from HydrogenOS. But, there are not peeking notifications (notification on the top of screen)of text messages. I already enable the "allow peeking" setting. Other APPs can show the peeking notification. Anyone knows how to solve it?
