So whats going on the the proximity sensor?

Phone sometimes turn on while on call, able to open on my pocket and even somtime selfie camera pop up.

    No pocket mode.
And noticed that while listen to voice note on whatsapp, if i flip or raise the phone, only then it switch to earpiece and not when i cover the top.

I read in specs that there is a sensor.
So is there a way to fix or improve that?

Same issue here, seems proximity sensor don't work just fine on phone call.

whastapp is more accurate, and switch the audio and switch off the screen she you put on your ear.

    latest 9.5.7 version EU

    Same with mine.
I often press buttons from the notification menu during a phone call.
I also had pocket calling with selfie camera opened.

Is the dev group aware of this bug ?

    RAM CONSUMER

I have recently bought OnePlus 7 pro 8 GB variant but 3 - 3.5 Gb of ram is consumed by android OS only then what is the advantage of buying this much higher variant model where as compared to your older oneplus models they donot cosume more than 700 mb.
kindly solve this issue for OnePlus flagship model.

It's happening to me as well. I use a "Sensor Multitool" app and noticed that the proximity sensor's readings are almost always 5 cm when the phone is laying flat. So it seems it's not working, but... If I hold the phone vertically and move it closer to my ear the reading changes to 0 - so it is working. However making it to change to 0 is quite hard, almost impossible with a hand, so it means that the proximity sensor uses some weird algorithm to determine the distance and if you are not holding the phone properly, to quote the classic, it doesn't work.

What surprise to me is that the proximity sensor was introduced in 2007 with iPhone 1gen. A non-working proximity sensor in 2019 is really disappointing for a "Premium" device.

My OP7 PRO was locked while in my pocket but double tap to wake was enabled. After 45 mins of walking I pulled it out of my pocket and it showed the blue Android screen asking me te select the language to setup the phone. So it had a complete wipe!
This must have turned on the screen I assume and accidental touches probably enabled the Pincode screen as I heard that after a few wrong pincodes the phone can wipe itself. I have no other clarification. However it is bizarre that it happened exactly one year ago as well with my OP6T. But on the OP6T I could turn on Pocket Mode. It never happened again. But OP7 PRO has no pocket mode. As it costed me hours to setup the phone again (yes even while using Oneplus Switch) I hope it does not happen again. Pocket mode is gone in the OP7 PRO so I turned off Double Tap to Wake. ONEPLUS when does pocket mode come back, multiple people on this forum had this issue, even with older Oneplus models.
It is even not possible to turn off Auto Factory Reset as Android originally had under Settings-->Lock Screen-->Uncheck Auto factory reset
ONEPLUS what can I do when pocket mode is missing?
