Your phone is supposed to generate heat every single electronic device does.

You're playing on extreme settings probably with brightness all the way up, it's gonna get hotter.

    Adjust your settings.

i have watched videos or redmi k20 pro and 7t as well and they don't get so much heated when checked the temperature. so why does this? even asus rog phone 2 doesn't heat.

Well, like you said, you enabled HDR and you play with the highest level of graphics (Extreme). Lower the graphics and the heat should decrease.

Rog phone 2 was designed especially for gaming, The 7T Pro was not.

As for the Redmi K20 Pro, I guess the engineers in Xiaomi are better than those in One Plus.

The hardware is not enough to have good performances, the software must follow too.

What is the use of So expensive phone when you can't play pubg at HDR and extreme and phone heats up so badly and metal frame on the upper side and screen is heating so badly almost reaching 60°C plus. no use of such a high end phone. ROG phone 2 and k20 pro doesn't heat that much! so disappointed with oneplus 7T pro.
kindly share your thoughts in comments.
Do you think its a software issue?

You don't have to create 2 seperate posts for the same issue.

Like others have said on the other post, you're going to have to expect the phone to get hot if you're playing PUBG in HDR and Extreme graphics setttings with full brightness for a long period of time. This is just how electronic devices work. Some phones may have slightly different cooling setups than the 7T Pro and heat may disperse quicker.

They didn't sell this phone as a 'gaming phone' so you should have bought one of those if you knew you would game on it most.

60°C on CPU is a normal temperature for such resource intensive games at max settings (try Real Car Parking 2 at max settings), also there are badly optimized games sometimes. I've seen many games with mediocre graphics heating up the phone like hell, also games with very good graphics that almost didn't heat up the phone.
The fact that you feel this heat is basically a good sign, that means there is a quite good heat dissipation. If you didn't feel much heat your CPU would probably hit 70-80°C with this game and CPU would throttle, making the game unplayable.
I hope there will be no more questions about Pubg and heating, it's getting irritating
