If it was a hardware issue, it isn't likely they can fix it and still have the same magnesium aluminium frame.

To me it seems it may be improved by software.

someone please help. how do I properly a factory reset when pressing the power and volume button. once I get to language selection, I'm good. After that, I don't know the actual difference from wipe data and cache, reboot, then there is an Advanced option where one can format data?

I foolishly forgot my screen pattern. I tried wiping data and cache but once I am past the greeting it asks for wi-fi then our gmail account. once there I enter my password and it takes me back to where I enter my gmail address again. I know I am entering the password correctly otherwise it would let me know.

please help, I barely have the OP2 for two days:-(

Useful post. Thanks. I understand OPT supports OTG. Where can I get USB 2.0 Type C OTG Cable /Adapter in India for use with my OPT?

This issue is serious and should be corrected on manifacturer account. I did several hardware mods on HTC ONE X and Galaxy S4 and due to micro components I was aways closer to damage it then repair.

In recovery do you have anything that says restore?

    • Power off the device and wait for 3 to 4 seconds after the display turns off
    • Then press and hold the Power and Volume up buttons together until the boot logo appears on screen

The fact it shows up on a screenshot suggests that it is a software issue, not a hardware issue. Try a factory data reset / virus scan. I recommend TrustGo and Clean Master.

I did like you told me, by pressing the volume up, it sends me to fastboot mode, once i am there.. nothing happens.

when I press volume down it sends me to a few options, such as, SD, USB, wipe data and cache, advanced, reboot. When I choose advanced i am given fastboot mode, and format data.

I don't see anything that says recovery... sigh.

Sorry to hear that. Try wiping data and cache once more and see what happens just in case.

It was my dream which comes true when i got the invite.
Built quality is awesome. Feels premium in hand.
But i am not feeling good with the Oxygen OS.
Its camera app is totally waste. U cant zoom clicked photos in camera app.
Very less user defined features. it heats up quickly when camera is on. battery drain like anything while taking photo.
Finger print sensor is pain in **S. IT works some time and some time not. While charging (at normal 240 V 6A plug not in train or car) its touch and finger print sensor don't respond. double tap wakeup is not working at all. Speaker sounds very less on playing music and with distorted audio.
I don't know whether it is happening in my phone only or some one also experiencing the same.

Try power and volume down, to get into recovery. Or maybe power and volume up and volume down...
