I suppose it depends on why.

If it's because of malfunctions, then no. Fix the problem instead.

If for some other reason, it's still a less-than-wonderful idea. Even UFS 3.0 flash media doesn't have infinite rewrite capacity. It's doubtful that most users will ever approach the maximum writes within the phone's useful life; but if there's any way to do that, I'd say that three resets a day would be a candidate.

It could be that it was overheating / detected moisture in the charging port and as such turned off and didn't allow itself to turn on until it cooled down/moisture went away. It doesn't seem like something too major but if it does happen again, contact OnePlus support

Update to the latest version of Oxygen OS as soon as it's available for your phone, hopefully the bugs will be fixed. In the mean time, clearing cache in recovery may help.

Do you mean resetting (like factory data reset) or rebooting (restarting/turning off and on)?

If it's just a simple reboot, then there's no problems.

However, if it is a factory data reset, may I ask why you're doing this? Most likely it isn't necessary and if there's a problem that reoccurs then you should contact OnePlus support.

My 7T last registered with Android's ”Find my device“ about an hour before I came home.

I just don't remember if I switched of the Display or had a game running, but I left it on my bed. It was cold when I came home.

Maybe an additional protection that you have to reset first or a minor hiccup. Good to know what you can try if it happens again, just don't panic.

has anyone thought that could be WhatsApp not working on Android 10 as well as may not be optimized that great. because that's an application it's not something that was built in the OS itself. there's playing apps that may not work correctly on Android 10 right now because I'm not optimized. I have a Samsung app that won't work on Android 10 at all right now.

The battery life isn't bad at any means! If you think 6 hours screen on time with 30% left is bad go and buy this Duracell (or what company is that huge phone from?) cause that's a pretty solid result!
But ye, marketing and releasing strategy isn't the best rn.

Lol, why you all get this little SoT? I get 6 to 7 hours screen on wth 25 to 30% left. I'm a medium to heavy user I would say, much YT but also games like Pubg, CoD, Asphalt 9, Black desert and Brawl stars are on my daily list...

wow there must be something wrong with my OnePlus 7t pro 5g McLaren. either software-wise or a manufactured defect in the battery. I did do a factory reset this last Tuesday I'm on the third day and I'm only getting about 3 hours screen on time so far I'm at 48%. I'm going to try going with 5G off tomorrow and see how that helps. but I may have to call T-Mobile and see if I can't get a new phone and see if that solves issue because everything else on the phone works just fine software is amazing. except my battery life.

There's a lot more to it than screen time. Apps also use battery, especially those allowed to run in the background without optimization. What's your detailed battery usage look like?

this is my battery uses as of right now. not really heavy user at the moment. not sure what it truly is at stake my battery that much. I feel like I should be at like 60% right now.

If you're at more than three hours screen time right now, I think your usage could be within range. You have Wi-Fi, 5G, and Bluetooth on; and Facebook is a battery hog because of all the spyware running in the background all the time. I wouldn't swear to it, but doing the math in my head, your usage doesn't seem far off if you have > 3 hours screen time since last charge.

I run my phone very lean, so I do get better battery life. But the 7t's battery life so far has been excellent even by my lean standards.

okay well thank you for the advice. I'll keep an eye on it. I just said Facebook to be optimized so it's not using anything in the background. hopefully they'll help a bit. I do have Wi-Fi Bluetooth in 5G on. most of the time. standby time is does seem to be pretty great now. before the factory reset and after the update I got it was still drain slow even not using it. but after the factory reset it seems to be not draining as fast in standby or at all. just while in use. so I'll try and limit Facebook to being optimized so it won't use as much battery. why do you not use Facebook at all. because I love this phone don't want to get rid of it. thank you for telling me that my uses so far is within reason.

I'm a turn off 5G for now and see if that helps to get better battery life until 5G is more widely around.
