    Hey everyone,
With this thread I bring back the "Question of the week", which was an official thing in the past.
The new year just started and so does the QotW again! A big thanks for the previous QotW's goes out to @Nicole Q. @Adam Krisko and @Mike! The weekly question used to be combined with a giveaway, but as I am not working for OnePlus I can't give out anything and I also don't have pictures of Una :(. Anyway let the guys from OnePlus know what you want for the following devices ;)

This weeks poll is an updated version of the second QotW - but that was more than two years ago. The time flies so fast . Since that time the community grew a lot, there are new technologies and trends. Just to name the "bezel less" phones today as probably the best example.

As we have now almost no bezels it doesn't really mean that the phone gets a lot bigger with a bigger screen (compared to phones with bezel) : The OnePlus 5T has a 6.01 inch screen while the OnePlus One has 5.5 inch. The body is almost the same size, the 5T is just 4mm longer, but even 1 mm narrower and thinner.

Please vote for one option in each category:
    A - Screen size
    B - Screen resolution
    C - Technology
    D - Screen proportion

    Hope you enjoy this QotW!

Here are all old QotW's. (psss it's part of the story why the OP3 became like it is)

Well a friend of mine didn't like the current AMOLED so much because it has a weird color matrix. Somehow he did notice that on his OP3T while I barely could see anything unusual.

Well LCD is the only screen that can support higher refresh rates as of now...

But we usually don't care so much about refreshment rates of a phone display (only Razor does :p)

AMOLED does win for sure. Maybe in 5 years there will be no screen, just a 3D hologram projector :rolleyes:

    I voted higher res. (B)
I know OP and fans are slow to adopt but its coming and most likely on the next T.
If there is no 2nd QC soc again, how can they justify another T model ? Add IP And QIo_O

I can remember on the OPO and the OP2 the cry was No Amoled
    No fast charge
    No rear FP
and here we are now. :D

    Nice thread:)

Am I the only one who has no problems with LCD, 16:9, and 1080p

LCD is definitely improving to a point where it is incredibly competitive with AMOLED (or any other LED screen). For instance, most computer monitors and TVs are LCD and we use those daily. Why should it be any different for smartphones? So, I feel like giving LCD the benefit of doubt when there is constant improvement. I guess you can also say I don't believe in the hype behind AMOLED (or any LED) screens

16:9 is what every television screen, or computer monitor is. 18:9 aspect ratio yields an awkward resolution... I used the Honor 7X for a few weeks. Even though it had a higher aspect ratio, most of the things you did would resize to a 16:9 resolution because 18:9 isn't really native. I believe that there should be a more natural aspect ratio than the long screens we have seen from 2017.

1080p isn't bad. It has also improved over time. That being said my daily driver at the time has a Quad HD display. But nothing is truly different in the screen of my current device when compared to my Honor 7X screen. So, what is the point in raising the screen type from 1080p to 2K? Most of it is not noticable via the naked eye. Just stay less than 4K displays for devices.

So, to end this. Take this all with a grain of salt as it is completely my opinion. If you don't like what I said; tough beans.

Thank you all for reading my opinion and have a nice day.

Thats about the screen size. With a smaller screen all places are good reachable, but with a big screen the 18:9 ratio is better so that you can reach the other side with the thumb (at least it sounds reasonable to me)
