@Adam Krisko do you know if oneplus is considering Synaptic Natural ID (fingerprint scanner under the glass)?

What the production price of this kind of sensor and glass?
Link for more details about Natural ID
Or Qualcomm's Sense ID which apparently is built into Snapdragon 810

Front is more convenient as we r more use to for pressing home button so it makes easy for us to place the finger on finger print scanner and that too very accurately.
Back placement just makes it less accurate as ur finger doesn't always press at the proper position also in large size phones, it just becomes difficult and not at all comfortable for people having small hands or u can saybnormal hands
Side is just useless as it would take us an extra work to press in side ways :)

So front is the best side to hve finger print sensor on.

    Hope it helps.

Front is the most obvious and logic place for a fingerprint scanner cause almost everyone uses a case or cover nowadays.

The side is the worst place and the back is less practical for those who use a case or cover.

Front seems the best place for it. Even though I've used a device that had it on the back, it wasn't really intuitive.

I find this question annoying because I think that a lot of people don't know what it's like to have a finger print reader on the back.

    - It's actually VERY nicely positioned
    - makes the bottom bezel smaller
    - you can show off to your friends how you can unlock your phone without touching anything!

Okay, if you have a case, its not good. I understand. Maybe OP will make one a case specifically for it?

The Honor 7 has a sensor on the side of the device and it actually works quite well.

The problem with the Oneplus 2 is not the location of the sensor but the fact it is depressed into the case. Add a tempered glass screen protector (I have the official one) and simply touching the sensor is difficult. The sensor needs to be far easier to touch.

Well I like it on the front but I also like front facing speakers, so I vote the back. Unless you can put front facing speakers with a fingerprint scanner on the front?

Wow you guys need to step out of your bubble and try a new phone. I had the note 5 and thought the fingerprint on front of the phone was great. Then I got a nexus 6p and its perfect. Once you have it on the back you'll never go back.
Of course most ppl are going to say front on this forum because that's all they've ever used.

Tried the back fingerprint scanner on the Nexus 6p and didn't liked it a front side scanner is way more convenient

I think "side" would be great because we always hold our phone by the side and it will be faster to unlock it that way. And it will be an innovation as no one else did it.

Side is for me best because it's the most common way to hold your phone! You always hit the side stand by button

I don't care where the fingerprint sensor goes as long as it's combined with NFC for mobile transactions.

I feel like people that are voting for Front haven't tried Back.. I came from Front to Back, and it's magical. Also wtf is with Side?
