i have voted for back, because that leaves space for front stereo speakers
but front side is also ok if it will be like on 1+2, side also ok if it's embedded into lock key like on xperia z5

For me it is front side. It not only looks cool but I think the perfect place for considering the safety of the equipment is the front. Its mainly because of how we inherently handle a mobile . We usually keep the phone in pockets so the side gets brushed regularly this causes abrasion . Also by keeping it on the back will cause the dirt to accumulate cause we keep the phone front side up on the ground. Additionally it will not look cool as you cant put a back cover on the phone.;)

I don't know; I like the wake/sleep and volume buttons on the back of my G4. It eliminates the "handedness" issue @dsmonteiro alluded to. (I'm right-handed, but use my phone left-handed.)

But I do agree that the front is the best location for the fingerprint sensor.

    Front is perfect

I just hope that it isn't recessed as the one on the OP2, because it becomes difficult if you have a tampered glass on

It should go on the back. Keeps the front nice and clean. And most of the time your finger is already on that position on the back.

I don't know.. But I'm a fan of what Sony did, put it on the side, cause I find front FPSs, ugly (still love the OP2, honest.)

Side, so that you can house the front firing speakers in the front .

Front, if it can house the front firing speakers along with it.
