I don't think you understood my point. Currently Full HD 1080p and 5.5" are the most popular options. So if you want to go with it, you make a phone with a 5.5" 1080p display, right?

Wrong. For the sake of the argument let's say there were only 2 size / resolution options: 5" / 5.5" and 1080p/2K, and the results looked something like this:

    5": 30 %
    5.5": 70 %
    1080p: 60 %
    2K: 40 %

So, as I said before, 5.5", 1080p ? Except it is possible that the choice of people were as follow:

    5" & 1080p: 30 %
    5.5" & 2K: 40 %
    5" & 2K: 0 %
    5.5" & 1080p: 30 %

(you can check the maths, it works).

    Meaning:

1- the most popular option was actually 5.5" with 2K -- but that's OK, you can't please everyone.

2 - 70% chose a configuration with a high density of pixel (5" & 1080 or 5.5" & 2K), i.e. high PPI, "crisp" screen, so this seems to be highly desirable feature, a driving force in making choices.

Except your poll led you to actually choose the configuration with the lowest PPI...Conversely if you had chosen either 5" & 1080p or 5.5" & 2K you would have gotten at least the screen quality (PPI / crispness) right for 70 % of people.

That's what I meant by screen resolution and size not being "independent". And that's why I think the choices should have been presented in terms of either size x resolution pairs -- but that would have meant lots of options = inconvenient, or rather in therms of size and PPI.

Precisely. And that's why it's important to understand what is the variable driving the choices. Which is completely obscured here by the design of this poll.

The expected lifespan of prev gen AMOLED screens was 10+ years. The new gen ones are 18+ years. Exactly how long do you generally keep your phone for before replacing?

5.5" big enough for good viewing experience. not too big where it makes the phone unwieldy.

4K because it looks awesome and its the future

LCD because it lasts and its consistent.

AMOLED is great for battery saving when using a dark screen, but there are two issues.

1 Its possible to get blue burn-in
    2 Color oversaturation

Most of us have color correction capability in our ROMs. It would be nice if the color correction was a standard feature
